In Capua, the former friary of San Gabriello and the late Baroque Church of Santa Placida house a section of the Diocesan Museum.

The San Gabriello complex brings together the Church of Santa Placida and the former convent of the same name, and today houses one of the sites of Capua's Diocesan Museum, inaugurated in 1992 and spread across several spaces in the town, including the cathedral crypt. The church is in late Baroque style, with a bell tower recalling the Vanvitelli school. We like knowing that Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony visited the convent several times, becoming the nuns' protector. We recommend completing the museum route, which gathers finds and works from the town's churches, including pieces by Antoniazzo Romano.
