16th-century palace of the de Conciliis barons, with an inner courtyard, a square and a round tower, now home to the municipal library.
The de Conciliis Baronial Palace stands halfway up the slope, on the edge of Torchiara's historic centre, midway towards Copersito, along the old road that climbed from the valley floor towards Laureana. It was built in the 16th century by the de Conciliis barons, lords of the place almost without interruption until the end of feudalism. Restored and donated to the town, it now houses the municipal library.We like its two different towers: the square one to the north-west, on four floors, and the round one to the south-east, once used as a prison. We recommend entering through the arched portal into the inner courtyard, adorned with ceramic decorations, and looking for the two nearby chapels, of the Annunciation and of the Madonna delle Grazie.
