A route among the remains of ancient Cosilinum, on the heights of Padula: walls of large blocks, a square tower and views over the Vallo di Diano.

On the heights overlooking Padula lies the Cosilinum Archaeological Park, devoted to the ancient settlement from which the town grew. Tradition attributes its foundation to the Oenotrians, while later the area was frequented by Lucanians and Romans. The route leads among the remains of mighty walls of large blocks, stretches known as Cyclopean, and a square tower. We love climbing up here to read the landscape of the Vallo di Diano through the eyes of its ancient inhabitants, who chose commanding positions to control the valley. We recommend comfortable shoes and completing the experience with the finds on display in the archaeological museum in the nearby Certosa di San Lorenzo.
