In Benevento's Ponticelli district, the 18th-century convent linked to the Order of Malta, with the church of San Giovanni Gerosolimitano.

Along Via San Pasquale, in Benevento's Ponticelli district, stands a complex with an unusual history. In 1724 the Grand Master of the Order of Malta gave the Reformed Fathers the Palace of the Commanders, asking in return for a convent to be built. The church, dedicated to San Giovanni Gerosolimitano but known as San Pasquale, was designed by the Beneventan architect Nicola Colle De Vita. From the 19th century the convent became a home for the elderly poor and for some decades also housed a psychiatric section, while a few friars stayed on to look after the church. Since 2015 the Benevento delegation of the Order of Malta has once again had its seat here, ideally closing a circle. We suggest looking at the statues of Saint Margaret of Cortona and Saint Francis of Assisi on the altars.
