Baroque Church of the Annunziata in Piedimonte Matese, with stucco by Vaccaro, a wooden choir from 1748 and the large canvas of the Wedding at Cana.

Also known as the Annunziata, the Ave Gratia Plena stands on a place of worship documented as early as the 9th century. Rebuilding began in the mid-16th century and the church was reconsecrated in 1640; the façade and bell tower date from 1694. The interior, with three naves and six side altars, is decorated with Baroque stucco by Domenico Antonio Vaccaro. We suggest lingering over the choir carved in 1748 by Aniello Giordano and, above it, the large, crowded canvas of the Wedding at Cana painted by Nicola Maria Rossi in 1732. We also like the vault frescoes, painted between 1931 and 1945. The church was restored after the 2013 earthquake.
