A church in the Ferrovia district rebuilt in 1950, heir to an old confraternity, with a façade mosaic and altarpieces by Giuseppe Moroni.

Along Viale Principe di Napoli, in Benevento's Ferrovia district, stands the church of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli. Its story begins with a confraternity founded in 1588, whose first seat was on Piazza Cardinal Pacca; that church collapsed in the 1688 earthquake, and its successors were destroyed during the Second World War.The present building was designed in 1950 by Salvatore Pennella. We like the façade mosaic and the altarpieces by Giuseppe Moroni. The frescoes by Rocco Pennino, which recalled the 1943 bombings and the 1949 flood, are now largely hidden after the works that followed the 1980 earthquake. The present decoration recalls the Byzantine style.
