The 18th-century church of Torrioni's patron saint, in local stone, with an older crypt and a fine viewpoint over the Sabato valley.
The church of San Michele Arcangelo is the religious centre of Torrioni. The present building is 18th-century and stands on the remains of a 15th-century structure, of which the underground crypt of the old oratory survives. The simple façade is in local stone, and the doorway is topped by a maiolica image of the patron saint. It has recently been restored.We really love the small square in front of the church, one of the best viewpoints over the Sabato valley: we suggest sitting here at sunset. On 29 September the patron saint's feast is celebrated, with a procession accompanied by music and a closing firework display, a perfect opportunity to get to know the village.
