Church of San Gennaro Vescovo

In the Terranova hamlet of San Martino Sannita, a church holding an old painting of the Madonna di Costantinopoli.

The Church of San Gennaro stands in Terranova, the newest hamlet of San Martino Sannita, which grew up in the 15th century around a friary of the Virginian monks. It is the seat of the parish that also includes the hamlets of Cucciano and San Giacomo, and keeps a strong bond with the life of the small hill villages. We like to recall its most cherished treasure: an old painting of the Madonna di Costantinopoli, venerated in two deeply felt feasts, on the Tuesday after Easter and the Tuesday after Pentecost. We recommend dropping by on those days to experience local devotion, and combining the visit with a tour of the municipality's hamlets.
