Small chapel of 1999 on the western slope of Albanella, dedicated to St John the Evangelist, with views over the Gulf of Salerno and Paestum.
Built in 1999 on the western slope of the hill of Albanella, this chapel is dedicated to St John the Evangelist, author of the Apocalypse. It was created to recall the old medieval church of the village of Santo Janni, now vanished, which the 18th-century historian Lucido di Stefano had described in his writings.Inside there is also a cenotaph dedicated to the Greek poet Constantine Cavafy, a detail that intrigues us and makes the place truly original. We suggest coming up for the panorama: the view sweeps over the Gulf of Salerno and the ruins of Paestum, a perfect vista at sunset.
