Square Baroque chapel from 1703 with a two-storey portico, a frescoed dome and a majolica floor.

The chapel of Santa Maria degli Angeli is an unusual early 18th-century building: a square plan and a two-storey portico. An inscription in the portico records that it was built in 1703 through the devotion of Angelo Ceraso, born in Buonabitacolo and later Bishop of Bovino.Inside there is only one altar, but the whole is a small Baroque gem. The dome is frescoed with the prophetic mission of Mary, the floor is in majolica, and in front of the altar two paintings depict the temptation of Adam and Eve and Judith with the head of Holofernes. The canvas that adorned the altar has been lost. We recommend standing beneath the dome and looking up.
