The castle of Teggiano where the Barons' Conspiracy was plotted in 1485.

Castello Macchiaroli was built in the Norman period, between the 11th and 12th centuries, and was the castle of the Sanseverino princes. Within its walls, in 1485, Antonello Sanseverino, Prince of Salerno, organised the Barons' Conspiracy against King Ferrante of Aragon.Over the centuries it endured sieges and enlargements. Since the 20th century it has belonged to the Macchiaroli family, from whom it takes its name, and it is private.
