In the ducal castle, grave goods of the Oliveto-Cairano culture and the famous tomb of the Princess of Bisaccia.

The Bisaccia Civic Archaeological Museum occupies several rooms of the ducal castle, owned by the municipality since 1977. The route unfolds over three rooms and gathers many funerary finds recovered between 1973 and 1996 on the hill known as Cimitero Vecchio, one of the richest areas of evidence in southern Irpinia. We like it because it offers a close look at the Oliveto-Cairano culture, typical of these uplands. We suggest spending time on the tomb of the Princess of Bisaccia, the most important piece in the collection, whose grave goods bring back the image of an ancient community and the rank of those who led it. Combine the visit with a stroll through the historic centre.
