The amphitheatre of ancient Capua, among the largest in the Roman world, with the Gladiator Museum.
The amphitheatre of Santa Maria Capua Vetere was the second largest in the Roman world after the Colosseum. The town was home to the gladiator school where Spartacus' revolt began. You can see the underground passages and part of the outer arches. Next door, the Gladiator Museum tells the story of life in the arena; the same ticket often also covers the Mithraeum and the museum of ancient Capua.
