A sanctuary on the Cimbrone spur dedicated to the Holy Physicians, with a panoramic terrace overlooking the sea of the Amalfi Coast.

The cult of the Holy Physicians Cosmas and Damian in Ravello is ancient: the sanctuary already appears in documents from 1397 and 1425. The two saints, who according to tradition cured the sick without asking for payment, died as martyrs under Diocletian in 303. The present building, blessed in 1965, replaced a small church reached by a steep flight of steps, which had become too small for the many pilgrims. The sanctuary clings to the Cimbrone spur, at about 350 metres above sea level, and is fronted by a splendid panoramic terrace over the sea of the Coast. We recommend pausing there for a few minutes before going in. Inside you will find a single nave, with the apse lit up by a mosaic dedicated to the saints.
