A museum in the crypt of Ravello Cathedral, opened in 1983, holding the remains of the medieval ciborium and other cathedral treasures.

Beneath Ravello Cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta and San Pantaleone and founded after 1086, lies the Cathedral Museum, opened in 1983. It is laid out in the crypt, marked by granite columns and cross vaults, and in a room beside the right aisle, both reached from the side aisles.Among the most interesting pieces are the surviving fragments of the ancient ciborium, dismantled in 1773, such as the Agnus Dei relief. We like to round off the visit by admiring, in the church, the bronze doors by Barisano da Trani from 1179 and the precious ambos. We suggest taking your time to read calmly through the history of this ancient diocese.
