The diocesan museum of sacred art on Piazza Vescovado, in the historic centre of Nusco.

In Nusco, an old village of upper Irpinia, the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art is on Piazza Vescovado, in the heart of the historic centre. The town has been a bishop's see since the Middle Ages, and its cathedral of Sant'Amato, dedicated to the first bishop and patron saint, is the focus of local religious life.We like the idea of completing a visit to the cathedral, with its 16th-century façade and bell tower, by discovering the diocese's heritage of sacred art. We suggest checking opening times beforehand and then strolling through the stone lanes of the historic centre, enjoying the views that open up from the village.
