A historic church in the centre of Castelfranci, already standing in the 16th century and dedicated to the patron Saint Nicholas.

On Via Foria, in the historic centre of Castelfranci, stands the church of San Nicola, dedicated to the village's patron saint. Sources record it as already existing before 1565: over the centuries it has been damaged several times by the earthquakes that struck Irpinia and has been restored, remaining one of the village's landmarks.We suggest visiting in May, when on the 8th and 9th the feast of Saint Nicholas is celebrated with religious services, brass bands and festive evenings in the village. We like to combine the stop with a walk through the centre to the sanctuary of Santa Maria del Soccorso, the other symbol of Castelfranci's devotion.
