Museum of Technology, Culture and Rural Life of Alta Irpinia

Founded in 1981 by local historian Salvatore Boniello, after whom it was named in 2021, this museum gathers some one thousand objects and tools of rural life, from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Among the most curious pieces are an old plough and the first typewriter bought by the municipality.We love the reconstructions of farm interiors and old trades such as the blacksmith, the carpenter and the doctor, together with the sections devoted to weaving and embroidery. We also recommend the photographic exhibition on traditional costumes and the collection of family coats of arms: an affectionate journey into the memory of Alta Irpinia, perfect for children too.
