Small collection of ancient amphorae and anchors recovered from the sea off Castellabate, including the Punta Licosa wreck.

The Antiquarium of Castellabate gathers finds returned by the sea off the coast, which is now also protected as an underwater park. They are mainly amphorae and anchors from the Etruscan, Greek, Roman and Byzantine periods, the fruit of long years of underwater research that began in 1967.The most important find is the so-called Punta Licosa wreck, a ship about twenty metres long dating from around the 1st century BC, brought to light in 1988. The visit is easy and enjoyable thanks to explanatory panels. We like it because it tells of a lesser-known Cilento, that of trade and shipwrecks along the ancient routes.
