Canvases, statues, silverware and vestments from the 16th to the 20th century that tell the faith of the Castellabate community.

Castellabate's museum of sacred art brings together canvases, statues, furnishings, vestments and silverware from the 16th to the 20th century. It tells the story of the village's popular religion, rooted in Basilian and Benedictine monasticism and in devotion to St Costabile Gentilcore, patron saint and founder of Castellabate. The tour is divided into sections: objects from the confraternities, portraits of canons, silverware such as chalices and candlesticks, 18th-century books and 17th-century parchments. We like the nativity scene with Neapolitan figures from the 17th to the 19th century and the statues, including a 16th-century wooden Madonna. We recommend combining it with a visit to the historic centre.
