The medieval village destroyed by bombing in December 1943, now the Park of Historical Memory and a national monument.

On a hill just east of the present town lie the ruins of the medieval village of San Pietro Infine. Among the rubble we can make out churches and buildings, enclosed by walls with square towers, three of which are still visible, up to about four metres high. The village was completely destroyed in December 1943 by the bombing of the Second World War and was restored in 2017. Today it hosts the Park of Historical Memory, recognised as a national monument. Walking among these stones always moves us: we recommend doing so in silence, letting yourself be guided by the story of what happened here.
