In an old olive press, a walk in the dark telling the story of the Battle of San Pietro in December 1943, filmed by John Huston.

Opened in 2008 in a restored old olive press, the museum offers seven installations on the history of San Pietro Infine. They are also inspired by the documentary The Battle of San Pietro, which the director John Huston shot on the spot during the fighting between 8 and 16 December 1943, considered by critics his masterpiece. The visit takes place in the dark, accompanied by quadraphonic music, and it moves us deeply. A film shown in a small room reconstructs the Battle of San Pietro and the plight of the inhabitants, sheltering in caves without food or water while the Allies fought to liberate the town. We recommend combining it with the destroyed village.
