The castle of Roccadaspide stands on a height in the historic centre, above the Calore valley. It was begun around 1245 at the wish of Frederick II and is documented as a true castle from 1270.The Filomarino, lords until the 19th century, enlarged it to its present appearance: a perimeter of about 400 metres, 33 rooms and 7 towers. It is well preserved and privately owned.
