Museum in the crypt of Maiori's Collegiate Church, with statues, vestments and a rare 15th-century English alabaster altar frontal.

This museum is set up in the crypt of the Collegiate Church of Maiori, on two levels with a small panoramic garden. You reach it from the sanctuary entrances, climbing the so-called Holy Stairs, or from the open square at the top of the road. The tour is arranged by themes and opens with a fine section of statues.Among the finest pieces are the Madonna in Glory, 18th-century statues of St Lucy and St Apollonia, the original statue of the Madonna dell'Avvocata and a 16th-century German-school Madonna and Child. We like the rare 15th-century English alabaster altar frontal with the mysteries of the faith. We also recommend enjoying the view from the garden.
