The fishermen's church of Maiori, recorded since 1251, with a majolica dome facing the sea.

In a small square near the end of Corso Reginna, the Church of San Giacomo a Platea turns its façade to the sea, with its low majolica dome that seemed to protect the seafarers. It has been recorded since 1251.It was the church of the fishermen's confraternity, the most important in Maiori; according to tradition, this is where the Archbishop of Amalfi took possession of the diocese, until 1680. Destroyed by a storm surge in 1590, it was rebuilt in 1593.
