A small church of 1698 in Piedicasale, built as the marquises' private chapel, with side galleries and a crypt beneath the floor.

In the Piedicasale area of Santo Stefano del Sole we find the church of the Santissima Annunziata, built in 1698 by the local marquis as a private chapel. We like its rectangular plan with a vaulted ceiling and above all the two side galleries, from which the marquises followed services without mingling with the congregation.The original frescoes have been lost, but inside are statues of the Annunciation and the Archangel Gabriel. In the terracotta floor we invite you to look for the two stone trapdoors leading to the crypt below. Today the church is the seat of a confraternity, and a little further down once stood the palace of the feudal court.
