17th-century parish church on Piazza Umberto I, built in 1632 in local stone, with a façade marked by pilasters and a pediment.

In the heart of Raviscanina's historic centre, overlooking Piazza Umberto I, we find the Church of the Sacro Cuore, the town's parish church. Archive sources date its construction to 1632, the work of local craftsmen; a few years later, in 1635, the tower and clock were also installed. We like its sober appearance, with the natural stone masonry typical of the villages at the foot of the Matese.We suggest pausing at the main façade, ordered by pilasters, a cornice and a pediment, where an inscribed stone plaque recalls the building's history. Walking around the church, on the side elevation you will also discover a figurative fresco accompanied by another plaque. It is a short but pleasant stop, ideal to combine with a stroll through the lanes of the old town.
