Collegiate church of San Rufo begun before 1480, with a fresco of 1472 and a Madonna by Claudio Ridolfi.

Outside the old walls, in the quarter of the same name, rises the majestic collegiate church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Works probably began well before 1480; enlarged and altered several times, the church was completed and reopened in 1849. The atrium with two Ionic columns is a later addition.Inside, we suggest looking for the 1472 fresco in a side chapel, the Madonna and Child by Claudio Ridolfi on the left altar and the organ beside the high altar.
