17th-century church on Via Fontanelle in Giano Vetusto, seat of a parish of the diocese of Capua, restored several times.

In Giano Vetusto, on Via Fontanelle, stands the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, seat of the parish of the same name in the diocese of Capua. The building was constructed in the 17th century and its dedication dates from the 19th century. It is one of the places of worship that tell the history of this small hill village in the province of Caserta.During the 20th century and the early 2000s the church underwent several interventions: a renovation of the interior in 1939, conservation work in 1985 and further restorations in 2004 and 2012. We like seeing how the community has cared for its heritage over time. We recommend a stop during a stroll through the village.
