18th-century parish church on Piazza Roma, built near the Porta Bassa and restored at the expense of Charles III of Bourbon.

On Piazza Roma, in the old town of Capriati a Volturno, stands the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, also known as San Nicola. It was built in the early 18th century near the Porta Bassa, replacing an older church that stood in the castle courtyard, of which the entrance portal remains.Built in haste, by 1730 it already needed restoration: it was Charles III of Bourbon who, at the townspeople's request, had it repaired at his own expense. The work widened the nave by removing the four large side chapels and added the stucco decoration. We like the single barrel-vaulted hall, the result of that history; we recommend visiting it during a stroll through the village.
