Sanctuary of San Rocco in Capriati a Volturno, built around 1766 and made a diocesan sanctuary in 2005.

On Via San Rocco, in Capriati a Volturno, stands the church dedicated to St Roch, built around 1766. In 2005 the bishop raised it to a diocesan sanctuary, confirming the strong devotion that binds the village to the pilgrim saint. The façade is gabled, with a wooden door protected by an iron gate, and the interior has a single barrel-vaulted nave.We like the majolica floor with a chequerboard of black and white diamonds and the shell-shaped holy-water stoup. On the high altar, rebuilt in 1983, is a 1968 painting of St Roch kneeling before the Virgin and Child; in a niche stands the statue of the saint. We also recommend looking for the 17th-century organ, noted as a fine piece.
