Church of San Giovanni Battista in San Lupo

  • Visit: about 20 min
  • 485 m

The Church of San Giovanni Battista is San Lupo's largest and holds the bust of the patron saint carved by Giacomo Colombo in 1708.

The Church of San Giovanni Battista is the largest church in San Lupo and the village's main place of worship. We recognise it from afar thanks to its bell tower, crowned by a small dome clad in yellow and green majolica that shines in the sun.Inside is the bust of St Lupus, the village's patron saint, made in 1708 by the sculptor Giacomo Colombo, one of the masters of Neapolitan wood sculpture of the time. We recommend pausing in front of this work, very dear to the community, and then continuing with a stroll through the centre.
