16th-century parish church of Corbara, dedicated to the patron St Bartholomew the Apostle, in the Piazza district.
The Church of San Bartolomeo Apostolo is the mother church of Corbara, a Lattari Mountains village overlooking the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese. It was built in the 16th century in the Piazza district, then on the edge of the village; the parish was authorised in 1587 and the building was already in use at the pastoral visitation of 1599.Dedicated to the town's patron, it is the heart of the Corbara community's religious celebrations. We suggest including it in a stroll through the village's historic districts, then climbing to the terraces where the famous Corbara cherry tomato is grown. We like the contrast between the quiet of the centre and the views opening over the valley below.
