Bellona's main church, dedicated to patron saint St Secondinus, with 15th-century domes and a free-standing bell tower on the churchyard.

The archpriest's Church of San Secondino is the religious heart of Bellona and the seat of the deanery. It is dedicated to the African bishop who, according to legend, was shipwrecked on the Campanian coast and converted the population. Documented as early as the 11th century, the Romanesque church was enlarged in 1473, taking on the domed structure we see today. The nave is covered by a large octagonal dome of about 15 metres, flanked by two smaller domes. We like the 15th-century bell tower that stands alone on the churchyard, on four levels. Inside, we recommend looking for the 18th-century statues of St Anne, St Joseph and St Sebastian, and the images of the patron saints St Secondinus and Maria Santissima di Gerusalemme, carved by Luigi De Luca in 1916 after a fire. Along the side aisles runs the Way of the Cross by the French artist Jean-Marie Gouttin.
