Emperor Tiberius' villa on the eastern tip of Capri, with a spectacular view over the gulf.
Tiberius lived on Capri in the last years of his reign, and Villa Jovis was the largest of his residences on the island. The great cisterns, the service rooms and the terrace overlooking the gulf survive. It can be reached on foot from Capri in about forty minutes, along an uphill path. Next to it is the Salto di Tiberio, a sheer drop to the sea.
