A 16th-17th-century palace on the newer stretch of Borgo Scacciaventi, Cava's historic arcaded street.

This palace is part of the Borgo Scacciaventi, Cava's historic main street, which grew up in two different phases. The oldest core, dating from around the 11th century, ran from the church of San Giacomo towards the San Francesco bridge; the later stretch, developed from the 15th century onwards, continued towards the cathedral. The borgo already appears in Queen Joanna's registers in 1347.The building belongs to the newer stretch, towards the Cathedral, which was almost uninhabited until the 14th century. Its construction therefore dates from between the 16th and 17th centuries, when many families from the nearby hamlets moved here. We recommend looking at it as you stroll under the arcades of the main street.
