Large 16th-century monastery overlooking the Calore valley, whose church holds a Deposition by Pietrafesa.

The monastery of Santa Gertrude was founded in 1588 and for three centuries, from 1605 to 1903, housed the Poor Clare nuns; from 1903 to the 1970s the Benedictine nuns of Santa Gertrude lived here instead. It then served as the school for about forty years, until 1990, when it was declared unsafe.Next to it stands the single-nave church, with a statue of the Pietà, a fine wooden choir loft and a large Deposition by Giovanni De Gregorio, known as Pietrafesa, a 17th-century painter from Basilicata. Austere and simple, the building overlooks the Calore valley and tells the story of art in the Alburni between the 16th and 19th centuries. Today it is admired mainly from the outside.
