An ancient place of worship documented since the 10th century, set into the mountain rock with views over Salerno and the sea.

On the mountainside, in a rocky hollow facing Salerno and the sea, stands this ancient place of worship, documented as early as 980. In that year the bishop of Salerno entrusted the church and its property to the nun Susanna to found a Benedictine convent there. It later came under the Abbey of the Santissima Trinità.The little church we see today corresponds only to the right nave of the original church, which had two; where the left one stood, with the old burials of the nuns, pilgrims are now welcomed. We like the sense of isolation and peace. We recommend climbing up for the panorama over the gulf.
