Durazzano's medieval castle, with its four towers and the Della Ratta coat of arms on the portal, dominates the centre of the village.

In the heart of Durazzano the medieval castle awaits you, a quadrangular building reinforced by four corner towers. It is one of the symbols of the village and tells of the feudal past of this corner of the Sannio at the foot of the mountains, long contested between different noble houses.We like to pause in front of the entrance portal, which bears the coat of arms of the Della Ratta family, one of the houses that held the territory as a fief. We recommend viewing the castle from the outside and combining the visit with a stroll through the streets of the old town, to grasp the link between the fortress and the village.
