The seat of the priests of the imperial cult in Herculaneum, with frescoes of Hercules.
The College of the Augustales was the seat of the priests who looked after the cult of the emperor, often wealthy freedmen. The main hall is decorated with frescoes depicting the labours of Hercules.In a small room the skeleton of a man lying on a bed was found, perhaps the building's custodian.
