Church · Montecorvino Rovella (SA)

A hall church linked to a 17th-century confraternity, which became the mother church after the 1980 earthquake.
The history of this church in Montecorvino Rovella is linked to a confraternity established by a bull of 1635 issued by Bishop Serrano, at first dedicated to the Most Holy Saviour and later called the confraternity of the Rosary. The building stands on its own, a hall with a single longitudinal nave and a pitched roof with wooden trusses. We like the simple gabled façade with its oculi and the courtyard enclosed by small brick pillars and an iron gate. Inside you can see stucco panels and holy water stoups. Having remained usable after the 1980 earthquake, at the end of the 1980s it became the town's mother church, in place of that of Sant'Andrea e Santissimo Salvatore.
