A 5th-century early Christian basilica inside the archaeological area of Paestum, with reused columns.

Inside the archaeological area of Paestum, among the great Greek temples, stands the Church of the Annunziata, known as the early Christian basilica, which dates back to the beginning of the 5th century. In the 12th century it was enlarged into three naves with reused columns and Romanesque forms. Visiting it, you can see how the ancient city was reused by the Christians: a stop not to be missed between the Temple of Neptune and the museum.
