Ancient church documented since 983, a parish since 1515, now in Baroque form and home to a 17th-century confraternity.

The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, also linked to the title of San Giorgio, is one of the oldest in the town: it is recorded as early as 983. For centuries it was not a parish; it became one only in 1515, thanks to Cardinal Federico Fregoso, then Archbishop of Salerno.A document in the diocesan archive records that on 18 March 1627 the confraternity of Santa Maria delle Grazie was established here, a sign of deep-rooted devotion. Today the building appears in Baroque style. We like it as a starting point for discovering the centre of Castel San Giorgio and its long religious history.
