Ancient church mentioned as early as the 12th century, now 18th-century in appearance, with a plain exterior and an interior rich in stucco.

The church of Santa Lucia is among the most interesting monuments in Battipaglia and is dedicated to the martyr of Syracuse. Its origins are ancient: it appears in a 12th-century papal bull and gave its name to the whole surrounding area. Today it is part of a rural complex, and nothing remains of the medieval building. What we see is an 18th-century church, altered in the 19th century. Outside it is plain and plastered, recognisable only by its bell tower; inside, however, it is surprising, with a vault and shell-shaped niches framed by mouldings. We like the use of stucco, worked to imitate stone and marble. The plan is square and holds three altars.
