Bridge of Roman origin near the mouth of the Tusciano, run in the Middle Ages by the monks of San Mattia and restored in 1729.

About 500 metres from the mouth of the Tusciano river stands a bridge of Roman origin, which in the Middle Ages took the name of the Abate Giustina bridge. It was in fact entrusted to the Benedictine monks of San Mattia, who in the 15th century joined the congregation of Santa Giustina, founded in Padua in 1429 to renew monastic life. The base is made of well-squared travertine blocks, with side reinforcements in Roman concrete. It originally had two different spans, the result of a late medieval technique; in 1729 it was restored by Marcantonio Doria, Prince of Angri. Later the widening of the riverbed led to the addition of a third span. We recommend stopping to observe its different building phases.
