An old medieval complex on the Parco hill, once belonging to the Verginian Benedictines, of which the presbytery and the cloister remain.

Halfway up the Parco hill, between the former garden of the ducal palace and the convent of Sant'Anna, stands the complex of San Giovanni in Parco, overlooking part of the historic centre of Nocera Inferiore. The church already existed in 955 and later passed to the Verginian Benedictines, the order born around the sanctuary of Montevergine. The convent was renovated in the 18th century, then sold to private owners in the 19th century and marked by damage and alterations. Of the church, after the collapse of the façade and nave, the presbytery remains with traces of a large 18th-century majolica floor. The wings around the cloister, where Murat is said to have stayed in 1815, are in poor condition: we recommend respectful viewing.
