Church dedicated to St Anthony, seat of the parish of Omignano Scalo, the hamlet on the Alento valley floor.

At Omignano Scalo, the hamlet that grew up on the valley floor around the railway station, the church dedicated to St Anthony of Padua is the seat of the local parish, in the diocese of Vallo della Lucania.It is a place of worship used daily by residents of the municipality's most modern area. We suggest stopping here before climbing to the main town, where the 16th-century Church of San Nicola stands: we like the contrast between the old hilltop village and the hamlet on the valley floor.
