The protected bay of the Sorrento peninsula, facing the Faraglioni of Capri.
The Bay of Ieranto opens below Nerano, at the tip of the Sorrento peninsula, within the Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area. In the 20th century there was a limestone quarry here; since 1987 the bay has been in the care of FAI, which has restored it.It can only be reached on foot, along a path of about an hour, or from the sea. From Punta del Capitiello you can see the Faraglioni of Capri: it is one of the finest views on the coast.
