The ancient Roman holiday resort, between the archaeological park and the sunken city.

Baiae was the holiday resort of the Roman aristocracy, famous for its baths and seaside villas. In the archaeological park you can visit large bath complexes, such as the so-called Temple of Mercury.Part of the ancient city now lies underwater because of bradyseism: you can discover it on glass-bottom boat tours or guided dives in the Underwater Park of Baiae.
