In Succivo, the museum tells the story of the Atella countryside from the Bronze Age to late antiquity, with red-figure vases and Orientalising grave goods.

In Succivo, the Archaeological Museum of the Agro Atellano tells the history of the territory around ancient Atella, the southern part of the ager campanus. Established in 1991 and opened in 2002, it is now a state museum. We like its route over three floors, which starts from a reconstructed necropolis with late-imperial burials of children in amphorae.On the first floor we suggest lingering over the finds from the Bronze Age to late antiquity, including a fine collection of Campanian-made red-figure vases. The second floor hosts exhibitions on recent excavations, with rich Orientalising grave goods from Gricignano di Aversa: a journey of centuries in just a few rooms.
